Freaking out? try out these ideas...

There are days when a lot happens around me. Sometimes I can't even make out the promblems let along find their solutions. I love being busy, having a long to-do list but at many times there arise situations where I can't do anything and I freak out. Everyone and everything annoys me, I get defensive and overthink a lot and the wrost thing is, I end up with stress outbreaks on my face. To come out of such situation or at least not making myself that much miserable, here are the few ideas that I found really helpful.

  1. Make a list - It might sound a little nerdy but trust me, try once. Write down your promblems, your concerns and make a list of pros-cons and the wrost case senario. This exercise will help to form a clear picture of the situation. It's like having the map of maze, though you're still in middle of it but atleast now you know how your surrounding looks like.

  2. Meet people - When I say people, it does not means family and friends but the strangers or your colleagues and classmates. This is the exercise that I find the most fruitful because once we met others, who don't know us and don't judge us then we are more likely to share our thoughts with them and even if we do not talk and instead hear them out then too we find them in similar situation like ours. And the situation do not feel as big as earlier as we are not the only one tackling it.

  3. Take a break - Sometimes the problem is not as big as we make it out and the real problem lies in our own self. In such situation, give yourself a break. Now how long this break should be? It depends upon how much time you need to regain your strenght and rejuvinate yourself, it might be a day or two or even a couple of hours and even a long sleep or evening walk. Anything that is out of your daily schedule and put your mind to rest.

  4. Freak out - I know it sounds absurd. I mean how can freaking out be a solution of freaking out? But it does helps me. Some problems are so big or so many that they deserve some action, some freaking but make a deadline even for freaking. Like sometimes I can't do anything and just annoys the hell out of people around me and after sometime when I lost all my energy, annyonce feels childish and completly unwanted.

  5. One bite at a time - Try to make a priority list even for the problems and address them accordingly, one at a time. If you can't do anything then leave it and come to the next one. Sometimes multitasking can be a huge problem so don't overestimate yourself and move forward in baby steps.

These are the few things that I personally find useful. Although as every person is different, their problem may also differ and not all people will find them useful but always remember that though the situations are tough but as are you!

Of letters and inks

There is some beauty in sitting on the floor, crossing the legs and opening the old letters and greeting cards. And revisiting the golden old days of letters and inks. The days when the message as well as the messenger were equally important.  I don't know how the people at that time were pouring their whole heart in few words and sealing them with the fragile stamps. Now a days, even the long chain of text with 'end-to-end encryption' can't hold a piece of emotion. Anyway, before you think I am some oldie who loves to lecture on the 'good old days', let me tell you I am not. Infact these are my mother's beloved belongings, one which she still proudly flaunts to my generation. Let me tell you something, in 2021 during lockdown, I wrote three letters and posted them to my cousins. Well they already were expecting the above mentioned letters but still I want to feel the experience of writing letters, folding them nicely, putting them in envelope, writing the a...
